- Abstract
- The article deals with adaptive 3D-objects LOD, which is performed on the GPU. This method is based on the view-dependent LOD approach with hardware tessellation usage. Visualization object's surface is generated from a displacement map by tessellating a coarse mesh according to dynamical view parameters. The advantage of displacement mapping is the compact representation. Hardware implementation of tessellation allows us to use efficiently computational resources and accordingly accelerate visualization process.
