- Abstract
- Mining wastes of the Kola Peninsula have been examined with a view to turning them into heat-insulating building materials. The tested materials included a manufacturing sample of a silica-containing product (Si-Stoff) from the Glinozem pilot plant (Apatit JSC), apatitte-nepheline dressing ttailings (Apatit JSC), ash-and-slag mixture of a thermal power plant (city of Apatity), and a fine shale fraction(Tsypnavolok occurrence). A discrete heat-insulating material and porous filling aggregate have been developed.
