- Abstract
- The review of the current scientific literature on magnetic storage devices, from read heads of hard disk based on the anisotropic magnetoresistance to such a promising direction as magnetoresistive random-access memory is presented. It is shown how modern scientific studies of magnetic phenomena accelerated the rate of growth in areal density of hard disk drives. The main problems and limitations of magnetic recording were considered.
