- Abstract
- The new perspective technology of processing the coal fly ash of thermal power stations into the Portland cement clinker is reported. This technology is realized through the primary obtaining the belite sludges. If the coal fly ash is an unsuitable raw material for the cement production, the belite sludges are readily convertible into the clinker. The task of the fly ash transformation into belite sludges is solved with the application of the complex of physical and chemical methods, in particular, with the involvement of sintering technology (some features of the last one are discussed separately). The proposed scheme allows converting more than 73 % of coal fly ash into the clincker for the Portland cement production. The application of this technology gives the possibility for replacing completely the clay component (in the cement clinker blend) for the coal fly ash of thermal plants.
