- Abstract
- The paper devotes to access control and restriction systems with main software modules working on the kernel level of operating systems. Such systems usually work by hooking attempts to gain access to resources under control, after that the systems decide to grant the access or not in accordance with access restriction rules. A potential malware can work on the same kernel level of operating systems; therefore it can violate the work of defending modules to get unauthorized access to protected resources. In the paper we consider a method to strengthen access control systems against such attacks based on virtualization techniques. This results in a multilevel security system that can resist such attempts of violation effectively.
