- Abstract
- This paper presents the results of the development of a polymer composition for heat-insulating fire-resistant coating designed for thermal insulation and fire protection of metal surfaces of industrial equipment and pipelines. In its composition, the composition contains a binder siloxane rubber, hollow carbon microspheres and flame retardant additive based on the waste of electrochemical production - galvanic sludge. The use of siloxane rubber improves the heat-resistant properties of the coating, the use of hollow carbon microspheres as a filler in the amount of 20-50 wt. h. reduces the thermal conductivity of the coating, the use of flame retardant additives in the amount of galvanic sludge 10-15 wt. h. gives the hardened coating fire-resistant properties. Studies have shown that the use of a composition based on siloxane rubber, carbon microspheres and galvanic sludge, allows to obtain a relatively inexpensive, but quite effective polymer coating with good thermal insulation and fire-resistant properties.
