- Abstract
- This paper presents the results of the development of the composition of the raw material mixture, which allows complex utilization of broken brick and polystyrene foam waste to obtain a composite material for the external cladding of the walls of buildings and structures. The developed method of waste utilization is the dissolution of polystyrene waste in methylene chloride, cold mixing of the solution with broken brick and cold pressing of samples with subsequent heat treatment at the boiling point of methylene chloride. To reduce the consumption of the solvent, it is provided for the removal of vapors formed during heat treatment with subsequent condensation and reuse in the recycling process. The paper presents the results of experimental researches of the dependence of compressive strength and water absorption on the composition of the raw material mixture and pressing pressure. The material obtained using the developed raw material mixture is characterized by low water absorption, high frost resistance and meets the regulatory requirements for building materials and products in strength and thermal conductivity.
