- Abstract
- Special studies have been conducted and methods have been developed for sampling representative air samples during environmental safety monitoring (control) for people living in residential areas adjacent to industrial enterprises. The behavior of air flows in air ducts of large diameters is investigated. It is established that the flow movement in the pipes is not linear. Moreover, the streams rotate clockwise in the northern hemisphere. Based on the literature data, we assume that in the southern hemisphere, air flows rotate counterclockwise. The behavior (state) of air flows in air ducts that we have discovered is proposed. This knowledge (Discovery) made it possible to develop systems both for taking gas samples for their subsequent analysis in stationary laboratories, and made it possible to connect devices for continuous automatic instrument control of emissions, including maximum permissible emissions (MPI) of hazardous substances. The method was implemented (from 2002 to 2017) at all seven facilities for the destruction of chemical weapons stocks of the Russian Federation. The analysis of the selected samples made it possible to control the state of the natural environment in the territories of the objects.
