- Abstract
- This article presents the results of a study of changes in the properties of a composite material for thermal insulation and finishing works from the achievement of a water-saturated state with different compositions of the raw mixture. The material under study was obtained on the basis of wood and polymer waste with the addition of technical linseed oil at the stage of preparation of the raw material mixture for the hydrophobization of the filler over the entire volume of the material. It is established that the material differs in average values of water resistance and swelling in thickness with low frost resistance and a sufficiently large increase in thermal conductivity during water saturation. The treatment of the filler with technical linseed oil reduces the degree of water saturation, which makes it possible to increase frost resistance and thermal insulation characteristics in a water-saturated state. At the same time, the stability of dimensions and strength characteristics decreases during the transition from an air-dry state to a water-saturated one. Based on the results obtained and possible operating conditions, recommendations are given for the use of wood-polymer material for outdoor work and for rooms with a humid climate.
