- Abstract
- Bioindication studies were conducted to assess the impact of industry on the natural environment in the towns of the central part of the Murmansk region. Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) were selected as test objects. An original scoring system based on the condition of needles was used, through which an integral assessment of the environmental situation in the towns of Apatity, Kirovsk and Monchegorsk was made. According to the assessment results, a satisfactory state of the environment is observed in the cities of Kirovsk and Apatity, and unsatisfactory in Monchegorsk.
