- Abstract
- Studies have been conducted on the possibility of using a number of commercially available sorbents to extract strontium from groundwater of brine mineralization. The influence of the pH of the medium on the static exchange capacity of the sorbent, the number of sorption-desorption cycles on the value of the maximum dynamic exchange capacity and the study of the "competition" of brine components in the process of ion exchange were carried out. It was found that the maximum exchange capacity during the extraction of strontium ions by a MnO2-based sorbent is reached at pH = 6 and is 51.7 mg/g. The possibility of using three sorption-desorption cycles without significantly reducing the efficiency of sulfocationite (less than 15 % during sorption and less than 5 % during desorption) has been proven, which allows increasing the overall degree of component extraction from brine. It is shown that after preliminary removal of lithium ions, the efficiency of strontium extraction from brine increases and reaches 82 %.
