- Abstract
- Methods of processing wastes of molten baddeleyite-corundum refractories (FBCR) after service in glass-melting furnaces are discussed. Quality assessment performed crushed FBCR scrap on laboratory and industrial jaw crushers. It is shown that vitrified part of scrap surface together with apparatus iron after its crushing is concentrated in fraction less than 1 mm. A process flow diagram has been developed for the preparation and processing of FBCR waste, which includes 3 stages of crushing, screening and magnetic separation to obtain a bacore concentrate that can be used as a raw material additive in the production of refractories of grades BK-33 and BK-37. The technological scheme of FBCR waste processing at the Zircon plant was discussed, including, in addition to the mechanical part of scrap processing, additional hydrometallurgical cleaning with hydrofluoric acid. Shown, that the use of hydrofluoric acid complicates the technological process and the environmental situation of production.
