- Abstract
- Scientific and technical approaches to solving environmental problems of reducing harmful emissions of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere from furnaces of oil refineries by modernizing the existing designs of burner devices of the GP-2 type are substantiated and proposed. Modern mechanisms of the formation of toxic nitrogen oxides during combustion have been analyzed and factors influencing their increased emissions have been established. The design and operational shortcomings of existing burners of oil refinery furnaces are identified and ways of their modernization to improve environmental efficiency are given. Fundamentally new proprietary designs of burners of the GP-2 type have been developed and recommended for use, differing from existing analogues in minimal emissions of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. The design features of the proposed GP-2 burner devices are the placement of a fuel oil nozzle in the burner embrasure, the supply of water vapor through a pipe with a spray into the combustion zone, as well as the additional installation of an air flow separator with nozzles for compressed air injection. The author's modernized burners of the GP-2 type are protected by patents for utility models, as they differ from well-known devices in the novelty and originality of their designs.
