- Abstract
- The article considers an approach to the construction of a software and hardware complex for recording and processing surface electromyography (sEMG) signals, designed for adaptive control of mechatronic devices: training robotic grips, human-machine interfaces and prototypes of assistive drives. Model signals simulating the contractions of the forearm muscles in four control modes were used for testing. It is shown that the combination of bandpass filtering, a sliding RMS envelope, and baseline normalization makes it possible to increase the stability of detecting muscle activity and reduce the proportion of false positives in comparison with the threshold algorithm without adaptation. The results obtained confirm the prospects of integrating EMG sensors and open source software in the tasks of robotics and mechatronics, and also show the importance of reproducible calibration.
