- Abstract
- The article presents the results of the state analytical control of soil contamination in the Republic of Bashkortostan for the period 2013-2023 based on official reports. The analysis includes data from routine monitoring, operational surveys of emergency incidents, and inspections conducted in response to public complaints. The aim of the study was to identify spatial and temporal patterns in the formation of soil contamination hotspots within the region. More than 100 contamination cases were systematized and mapped, with classification by pollutant type and hazard level. Petroleum products were found to be the dominant contaminant (over 80 % of cases), with a significant proportion characterized by very high levels of pollution. Persistent zones of environmental degradation were identified, primarily associated with oil production and refining areas, as well as major industrial hubs. A tendency toward polymetallic contamination was observed in areas where industrial waste landfills are located. The results obtained make it possible to determine priority areas for environmental monitoring and land rehabilitation and may serve as a basis for the development of regional environmental protection programs.
