- Abstract
- Тhe article studies the effect of a square partition device on the uniformity of air suction by exhaust umbrellas. The analysis of various layout options of exhaust devices is carried out using computer CFD modeling. It is established that an increase in the partition area (the similarity coefficient K) contributes to a more uniform distribution of the air flow over the working plane of the umbrella. The optimal value of K = 0.95 provides the minimum ratio of the maximum to the average velocity (2.21), which indicates the greatest uniformity of suction. In the absence of a partition or when K deviates from the optimal value, the uniformity of the flow decreases. Recommendations are given for the use of partitions with a similarity coefficient of 0.6 to 0.9 for equalizing the air flow in low-height exhaust hoods. The need for further research to improve designs and expand the range of parameters studied is noted.
