- Abstract
- This article presents an approach to automated generation of network topology maps in the Zabbix monitoring system based on LLDP data received from network devices via the SNMP protocol. The proposed method is based on representing the topology as a graph, where the nodes are network devices and the edges are detected physical connections. A Python software module is described that collects LLDP data, normalizes it, matches the detected devices with Zabbix hosts, and updates the map via the API. Experimental testing was performed on a lab bench in a VirtualBox environment. The results confirmed the correctness of map generation, the algorithm's robustness to common errors, and the low processing time for small topologies.
