- Abstract
- An excitation of microplasma discharges on the surface of samples of aluminum alloy V95, placed in a uniform pulsed plasma stream, were studied experimentally. The strong interaction between the localized microplasma discharges with aluminum in the surface layer has been characte-rized by rapid melting and subsequent cooling of the metal in localized regions of a micron size. The surface of aluminum is formed by a solid remelted layer with thickness up to 20 microns, which is characterized by strong changes of physical, structural and tribological properties of the metal.
