- Abstract
- An axiomatic approach to the construction of a ray-based method is consistently presented. The ray trajectories are defined as the real phase-space trajectories of energy transport associated with the eigenmodes of locally plane waves. An algorithm for the global identification of the multidimensional dispersion tensor eigenvalues is suggested, thus enabling the implementation of the proper ray Hamiltonian definition.
