- Abstract
- Taking into account both geological and geophysical data, the Earth's crust is divided into continental, oceanic, and transitional (anomalous). Although by now most of the researches have acknowledged the existence of isostatic compensation, its level and pressure is still open to question. Moreover, there is still an issue on class of isostatic compensation and how it differs for various types of the Earth's crust. In this study, the analysis of statistical data and solution of the isostatic equation allow to establish a common level of isostatic compensation for every distinguished Earth's crust type. Upon that, for each of them, isostatic compensation is carried out differently. Thus, the study has shown a possibility to determine a type of the Earth's crust with the use of classes of isostatic compensation set by sections.
