- Abstract
- This article presents the results of studies of the dependence of the basic physical and mechanical properties of a heat-insulating composite material on the ratio of wood ash and a secondary polymer binder in its composition. The material under study is obtained by dissolving styrofoam waste in methylene chloride, cold mixing the solution with wood ash, cold pressing and subsequent heat treatment to remove the solvent. The influence of the ratio of filler and binder on the formation of a porous structure in the material and the dependence of other properties on both the composition of the material and the nature of porosity has been established. The amount of filler leading to a lack of binder was revealed. The use of the obtained material for interior work in rooms with low humidity is justified, its waterproofing is recommended when used in other conditions.
