- Abstract
- This article provides a comprehensive overview of the fuzzing method, one of the most effective approaches to automated vulnerability discovery in software. It examines the fundamental principles, classification, and architecture of fuzzers. Special attention is given to modern trends, such as the enhancement of test data generation processes, the use of symbolic execution, and machine learning techniques. Based on an analysis of Russian and foreign literature and research, key issues and promising development directions for fuzzing are identified, including its application in testing smart contracts, the Internet of Things, and critical information systems. This article summarises the insights and offers a systematic perspective on the current state and future of this dynamically evolving field.
