- Abstract
- Murmansk region mining wastes promising for production of glass and glass-crystalline materials have been studied such as: overburden rocks of the Pechenga copper nickel deposits, of the Kovdorsky deposit of complex ores and the Kovdorsky phlogopite deposit, as well as by-product concentrates of apatite-nepheline, rare metals and eudialyte ores processing. There have been offered compositions of ornamental glasses with aventurine effect and heat-and-acid resistant black glasses based on mining wastes without using the primary sources, ornamental colour glass and glass-crystalline materials.
