- Abstract
- The methods of dry compacting of nano- and poly-dispersive powders have been developed and patented for manufacturing the high qualitative functional and structural ceramics. The methods use powerful ultrasonic action (PUA) and collector principle which allow to achieve an uniform packing of particles into green compacts having complex shape. The physical and mechanical properties of zirconia ceramics produced from ZrO2-5 % Y2O3 nanopowders using method of dry compacting under PU-action have been investigated in the given work. The grain size distribution and pore size distribution, density, microhardness, fracture toughness of the ceramics have been studied. It was shown the correlative behavior of mentioned properties and lattice parameters of grains in sintered ceramics versus PUA intensity at the powder compacting stage.
