- Abstract
- Problems of effect of Al concentration in the Ti1-xAlxN films on their hardness, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, thermal stability and mechanical properties have been considered. Repeatedly found that hardness and wear resistance will be getting worse, while resistance to oxidation and thermal stability, Young's modulus and resistance to plastic deformation of films will be improved if the concentration of Al in Ti1-xAlxN films is higher limit x = 0.6 and if there is hexagonal phase of wurtzite. Wear resistance of Ti1-xAlxN films enriched Al is maximum at high temperature conditions of their application. The regularities in the influence of Al concentration in Ti1-xAlxN films on their properties allow to predict the operational stability of the cutting tool and the friction pairs under different operating conditions.
