- Abstract
- A method of calculation of the limit stresses for multilayer composite materials with various schemes of reinforcing under plane stress state is proposed. The unidirectional fibrous ply is subjected to the maximum stress criterion. Calculations are based on the application of static and kinematic theorems of the limit equilibrium method. The problem of calculating of limit stresses is formulated as a linear programming problem. Numerical and analytical methods of solution are proposed. Analytical solution is obtained by the method of inequalities with application the filament model for unidirectional fibrous composite as well as models of deformating of the elementary layer in which carrying capacity of lay under pure shear in the plane of the reinforcement is not taken into account. The examples of calculation of the limit characteristics of the multilayer composites with different reinforcement schemes are given. In the stress plane limit curves are obtained which are in good agreement with known experimental data.
