- Abstract
- There was conducted an experimental study of shock-wave compressibility and pulse stretching of spheroplastic consisting of silicone rubber binder and glass microspheres filler at the ratio of 100/39 by volume. The Hugoniot of the material was measured and it was shown that the two-wave configuration observed at low pressures and the blurring of the second wave front according to the compression pulse propagation are due to the anomalous behavior of the Hugoniot at low pressures. There was defined the threshold of the beginning of destruction of the material tested under pulse tension.
