- Abstract
- The composite shell of a metal composite overwrapped pressure vessel was investigated. The composite shell was fabricated by the method of continuous winding of a composite tape onto a metal liner. Theoretical relations for calculating of thickness of the composite shell were presented. The thickness of the composite shell cut from full-scale samples of vessels with different types of two-zone winding was measured. According to presented relations the theoretical thickness of the composite shell for studied vessels was calculated and compared with the measurements.
