- Abstract
- Here, data is given on availability and development of materials for manufacturing of hermetic components of chemical and chemical-and-metallurgical equipment. Benefits and drawbacks of formerly used materials such as ceramic and carbon structural materials (pyrolytic graphite, carbositall, glassy carbon) are specified in this paper. Carbon-carbon composite materials (C/C composites) form an alternative to beforementioned materials, providing fabrication of complex geometry products with protruding structural elements (bushes, connection pipes). The article discusses background of technology for manufacturing of hermetic products made of C/C composites. The information is given about their physical-mechanical and thermal-physical properties.
