- Abstract
- A calculation and experimental method for indirect estimation of the carbon material elastic properties within the temperature range from room temperatures to 2200 оC (possible further extension of the temperature range) is proposed. The developed test equipment is described. The method involves loading of ring-shaped samples by diametral compression using non-cooled indenters in the elastic zone, measuring the compliance value at three positions. To estimate the ductility value, the shear modulus, as well as the longitudinal and transverse elasticity modulus in the material sample cutting plane, are determined by solving the identification problem. Results of experimental assessment of tolerability of repetitive strength and thermal loading of carbon-carbon composite materials (CCCM), as well as results of experimental try-out of the method using high-density CCCM on a needled preform, are presented.
