- Abstract
- The results of computational and experimental studies of the regularities of impregnation processes of fibrous reinforcing fillers by polymer binders in the process of forming of structures of various geometric shapes and sizes by non-autoclave "liquid" molding methods are presented. The fundamental regularities of the impregnation of fibrous fillers with polymeric binders are considered. The dependences of the speed and time of impregnation, the consumption of the binder on the volume fraction of the reinforcing filler in the product and its permeability, characteristics of the binder, the features of the communication lines leading to the mold, and also on the shape and sizes products are given. The values of coefficient of hydraulic resistance of the bringing channels ζc received in this work and coefficient of permeability of the studied layered package of the reinforcing filler Кperm have allowed to estimate for the first time their influence on time and speed of impregnation. Data on the coefficient of permeability of reinforcing materials should be used at the stage of preliminary calculations of pressures in the equipment and technological equipment used in the process of impregnation, design and selection of process equipment. The settlement technique of determination of coefficients of ζc and Kperm has been successfully applied during creation of radioparent products and details to the planes of a difficult configuration significantly differing on the dimensions and weight. The results of the carried out researches can be used in calculation programs when creating structures from polymer composite materials using non-autoclave molding technologies.
