- Abstract
- The paper presents experimental results of measuring of strains in carbon-reinforced plastic products during strength testing. The strains were measured using fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) on an optic fiber and standard strain gages. There is shown the use of FBG when launching them into the material during making of high pressure vessels and when gluing them to the outer surface of a lattice structure. Products of these two types were fabricated of carbon-reinforced plastic and applied to standard kinds of strength tests. The qualitative comparative measurement results using FBG and strain gages without the analysis of metrological characteristics have been presented.
