- Abstract
- The results of experimental studies of the effect of the volume content of multilayer graphene on the physico-mechanical properties of a ceramic composite are presented. Graphene particles were synthesized by liquid-phase exfoliation of thermally expanded graphite in an aqueous surfactant solution Twin-80. The porosity of the composite, consolidated by plasma spark-sintering, is determined from the volume concentration of graphene and the sintering temperature. To achieve an increased fracture toughness, the optimum concentration of graphene particles is 1 vol. %.
