- Abstract
- Presented here are the results of bench tests of the conical reentry vehicle (RV) model with small distortions of thermal protection lateral surface at the bottom in the form of longitudinal spiral strips. The test results have revealed the behavior of distortion amplitude and shape during thermal protection ablation. The influence of thermal protection ablation on the changes of geometrical distortion parameters was analyzed. The influence of changes in the geometry of distortions on variations of disturbing aerodynamic forces and moments was qualitatively assessed.
