- Abstract
- Research complex of barely visible impact damage (BVID) detection technology by impact sensitive polymer coatings with optic properties usage is made. Number of experiments on BVID (depth to 0.2-1.0 mm) detection on polymer composite materials coupons and airframe constructive similar samples by developed technology. The technology allows to reveal places of BVID at use of aircrafts visual inspection standard procedure and applying nondestructive inspection regular equipment. The technology does not demand presence of the difficult and expensive equipment and the personnel of high qualification. Outcome of use of this technique is increase of aircraft operation safety and obtaining of airframe technical condition authentic data. Results of activity are issued in the form of patents of the Russian Federation for inventions which allow to reveal BVID on a surface of airframes.
