- Abstract
- Based on the methodology combining experimental investigation and numerical simulation, a general approach to evaluating of load-carrying capacity of screw joints made of composite materials is suggested. Application of the method is demonstrated using 4DL-reinforced carbon-carbon composite materials. Failure criterion is formulated to characterize the real process of failure of a screw joint made of a 4DL-reinforced composite material. This method can be used for threaded fastens calculation with applying the corresponding safety factor.
