- Abstract
- This article describes the domestic experience, the results of experimental researches and application of polymer composites based on carbon reinforcing fibers and polymer matrices on real building structures, which allow strengthening in order to restore the bearing capacity and extend the life. The features of the technological processes of external reinforcement of damaged reinforced concrete and metal structures are considered. It is shown that the key aspect of ensuring the safe operation of complex technical systems and the timely detection of the occurrence and accumulation of defects, as well as assessing the actual technical condition in real time, is the use of methods and means of optical non-destructive testing, which is confirmed by the results obtained. It has been established that the combined use of polymer composites and fiber-optic non-destructive testing means allows not only to restore or increase the bearing capacity of the strengthening structure, but also to ensure quality control of the work performed and further operation throughout the life cycle.
