- Abstract
- The article considers one of the most topical issue of the definition of aerodynamic characteristics of re-entry vehicles (RVs) with axisymmetric bodies and small random surface deflections - simulation of small random deflections of a blunt surface. The paper presents a scheme used for simulation of small random spatial deflections of RV sphere-conic blunt noses that ensures high representativeness of variations of the RV aerodynamic coefficients estimated on its base. The paper provides examples of estimated influence of small blunt deflections on aerodynamic characteristics of a thin long cone with a half angle qs = 5o for Mach number M¥ = 20.
