- Abstract
- The out-of-oven technique is the promising method for repairing structural elements of polymer composite materials (PCM) in the field. The residual stresses due to the temperature gradient between heat layer and surface layers are one of the disadvantages of this technology. The temperature gradient value and residual stress of PCM samples are considered. It is showing that the residual stress in PCM samples, which are formed in lab conditions, are influence to the flexural strength. Its note that the additional measures should be apply for reduce residual stresses, which may increase due to increased convective heat transfer from the surface. For example, the heat layers should be placed on the surfaces of the patch.
