- Abstract
- The effect of a ceramic foam filter based on zirconium dioxide stabilized by magnesium oxide on the distribution of elements in a heat-resistant chromium-nickel alloy upon contact with the filter was investigated. It was found that oxide compounds of chromium and titanium, as well as aluminum-magnesium spinel, part of the aluminum in which is replaced by chromium, are formed at the metal/ceramics interface. The resulting compounds completely block the interface, i.e. the filter material is not of decisive importance when pouring.
