- Abstract
- Graphitization of detonation ND and MD was investigated, temperature-dependent changes in the properties of their surface were established. ND transformation was found to occur at significantly lower temperatures than MD transformation. On the basis of comparative analysis of the results of graphitization of nano- and micro-sized detonation diamonds, temperature-dependent changes in the surface properties of these particles were determined and higher sensitivity to heating of nanodiamonds was revealed. The use of Raman scattering and transmission electron microscopy made it possible to determine a number of intermediate and final graphitization products, structural changes and phase transitions of the investigated matter formations. The established properties of nano- and micro diamonds require a detailed investigation of surface modification to find out the promising applications.
