- Abstract
- The article discusses the dependence of the obtained image of a polymer object on the direction of extrusion relative to the position of polarizers. Additionally, it demonstrates the influence of the mutual arrangement of the analyzer and polarizer on the contrast of the image, thus enabling detailed study of objects that are invisible under other microscope settings. The differences in images of polyolefin and PET films when passing through them with polarized light are presented. Using examples of polymer lenses from mobile phones and polyethylene ampoules, practical applications of these effects for product quality evaluation are considered.
