- Abstract
- Using infrared spectroscopy, the stability, segregation, and equilibrium concentrations of blends of styrene-butadiene thermoplastic elastomers and road bitumen are examined. The influence of the concentration, molecular weight, spatial structure of the SBS polymers, and bitumen composition on the phase stability of their blends is investigated. The results are analyzed in relation to the phase segregation mechanism, thermodynamic principles, and phase diagrams for binary blends.
