- Abstract
- Experiments have been carried out to determine and compare quasi-mechanical characteristics of composites based on polytetrafluorethylene and polyethylene under free and constrained compression. The tests were implemented for different deformation istories using equally-shaped specimens and similar techniques. The peculiarities of the material response have been determined for the deformation range up to 10 % under conditions of free compression and for pressure range up to 160 Mpa under conditions of constrained compression. The models of isotropic elastic and elastoplastic bodies showing elastic volume compressibility have been identified. Two approaches for the estimation of volume compressibility modulus and Poissons ratio have been compared.
