- Abstract
- The estimation of the reliability of the numerical simulation of the behavior of steel box-section columns with the presence and absence of fire protection for high temperature exposure was carried out. At the first stage, on the basis of use of PC ANSYS the results obtained by the decision of the thermophysical and strength goals and results of field fire tests were on the second stage the effect of the thickness of fire-retardant coating for fire resistance of steel columns was revealed. A number of routines (the programming language ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL)), allowing for changes due to the geometric characteristics of column and fire-retardant coating and heatphysical characterictics of fire-retardant coating to produce a parametric calculation of fire resistance of steel columns, were developed.
