- Abstract
- Composite segments consist of a filler (diamond grains) and a metal matrix. A minimum number of designs of universal composite segments is proposed, covering the main cases of diamond processing. By the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis based on silicon compounds, a composite material was obtained: nitroferrosilicon, which was successfully used to modify the matrix of composite segments instead of the more expensive and heavy tungsten carbide. The tool has been manufactured, tested, introduced into production and successfully used at construction objects.
